POV: you’re writing an epic fantasy series and suddenly a side character says “hey remember me?” As a fantasy writer, this keeps happening. Such large casts can be difficult to handle in an epic universe. Honestly, some of the best moments in fantasy storytelling come from characters who weren’t supposed to matter that much at first. The ones hiding secrets in the corners of the worldbuilding until the story explodes into chaos at the end. This is why I love writing epic fantasy. Every character
