Happened to us at a con in Atlanta about 8 years ago (I'm not going to say which one, but it's one of the four day weekend ones). Dude approaches my table, all cocky, looks at my hats with stink face. I was polite and said hello. He immediately says he's a crochet artist too and he wasn't too impressed with any of the crochet in the artist alley, none are as good as him. Then he goes on to say that {insert con name} begs for him set up a booth every year and allows him to bypass the judges panel
