Scabies is a common mite infestation of the skin that causes extreme itch and rash. It usually presents in between the fingers, belly button, arm pits and groin, but in kids can be palms and soles. In the elderly or immunosuppressed it can crust over the entire body. Scabies mites can be passed via inanimate objects and prolonged contact. It’s treated with topical permethrin or oral ivermectin and all exposed objects should be washed in hot water or bagged for 2 weeks. Follow if you know someone
