The city of Philippi in West Virginia held its first ever Lurch Fest to honor its hometown hero, Ted Cassidy. Cassidy, an actor best known for his role as Lurch in "The Addams Family" television series, was honored with this statue at the Barbour County Historical Museum. | CBS Sunday Morning

Lurch was originally supposed to be a mute character on #TheAddamsFamily, but while filming the pilot, Ted Cassidy ad-libbed "you rang?" and the whole cast burst out laughing.
