MONSTROUS SCORPION! The desert hairy scorpion is the largest scorpion species found in the United States. These massive arachnids inhabit desert ecosystems across the southwestern US and use their large size to overpower their prey. They feed primarily on smaller invertebrates, but their larger size allows them to feed on larger prey on occasion such as frogs, lizards and even snakes! Although capable of a painful sting, these scorpions are considered “harmless” and are not dangerous to humans.
