What did the snail say in the snail kite’s talons? “Weeeee!” Thank you! I’ll be here all week. Female snail kites have such a pretty feather coloration and because these birds are endangered most are banded. This pretty lady isn’t. She was also very aggressive, defending her territory against any other kites in the area. The midair transfer from talon to beak frees up her talons for action.
