Unlike classical Balinese dances accompanied by gamelan, Kecak is driven entirely by human voice. Dozens, sometimes over 70-shirtless male performers sit in a circular formation, chanting rhythmic “cak-cak-cak” sounds that function as both music and atmosphere. Developed in the 1930s by Balinese artist Wayan Li
