Trilobites (scientific name: Trilobita) are an extinct class of marine arthropods. This is one of the oldest groups of arthropods, with the oldest recorded fossils dating from the Cambrian period (521 million years ago), and prospered throughout the Paleozoic era before the beginning of the Paleozoic era. At the beginning of a mass extinction, by the time of the Devonian period, all trilobite subgroups except the Proetida had disappeared. Trilobites died out in another mass extinction at the end

Trilobites are extinct arthropods that lived more than 520 million years ago. They are called Trilobites because of the 3 lobes in their exoskeletons. All trilobites were wiped out of existence 200 million years ago in a mass extinction event. #dapatalammo #fyp #LearnOnIG #kuyakimanona | Kuya Kim Atienza

Wait until the end to see the whole herd of trilobites I found grazing on some fungi! The Trilobite beetle’s primitive armored appearance truly sets it apart from any other bugs. Females of this species will maintain this look throughout their life, even capable of retracting their head like that of a tortoise. Wish I had spent a bit more time with these unique little beetles 👾 what a cool and unexpected encounter in the Thai jungle #natureisbeautiful #wildlife #jungle #critters #creature #bugs

Trilobites are extinct marine arthropods that form the class Trilobita. One of the earliest groups of arthropods to appear in the fossil record, trilobites were among the most successful of all early animals, existing in oceans for almost 270 million years, with over 22,000 species having been described. Because trilobites had wide diversity and an easily fossilized mineralised exoskeleton made of calcite, they left an extensive fossil record. The study of their fossils has facilitated important
