BANGKOK (Reuters) -Thailand and Cambodian forces will return to their previously agreed positions, Thai Defence Minister Phumtham Wechayachai said, following talks on Sunday, after both reinforced their military presence in response to a deadly clash last month.

Thailand and Cambodia have successfully reduced border tensions through coordinated diplomatic and military efforts, with both governments announcing significant progress in resolving the Chong Bok territorial dispute.

Thailand shortened operating hours at 10 border crossings with Cambodia, citing security concerns, as tensions between the two countries simmered after a deadly clash last month. A day earlier, both the Southeast Asian countries reinforced their military presence along disputed border areas,
