The settlement came from a class action lawsuit involving Whirlpool, KitchenAid and Maytag refrigerators that experienced a Frost Clog issue.
Under the terms of the deal, Purdue Pharma will become a public benefit company, with profits directed toward opioid addiction.
Newer frost issues may also be covered by the settlement.
