The Los Angeles Rams have been named a potential quarterback-needy team throughout the 2025 offseason. Even after the team retained Matthew Stafford, insiders claimed the Rams could take a quarterback early in the 2025 NFL Draft to secure their future in a post-Stafford world.

Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox offered a possible trade-up scenario for the Rams to do just that in the 2025 NFL Draft. Knox suggested the Rams sent the Nos. 26, 90 and 201 to the Denver Broncos to move up six spots to the No. 20 pick. He then wrote that the Rams should take Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough.

McCord is fresh off delivering a career-best 4,779 yards and 34 touchdowns for the Orange. He even guided Syracuse to the 42-38 upset of the Cam Ward-led Miami Hurricanes on Nov. 30. The same Ward expected to land No. 1 to the Tennessee Titans on Thursday. McCord tossed three touchdowns and racked up 380 yards that day.
