Through a unique private-public partnership “Sesame Street” will be available on both Netflix and PBS beginning later this year

Netflix has thrown “Sesame Street” a safety net with a new streaming deal that offers the popular children's staple a broad reach while keeping it on its long-standing home, PBS, at the same time, the companies announced Monday.

An HBO Max subscription is required to watch Sesame Street on the platform. Some social media users hoped that Netflix would allow viewers to tune into old and new episodes without requiring a subscription.
