Just 24 hours after both clubs were dismantled by their respective opponents, the Pittsburgh Penguins (23-27-9) and New York Rangers (28-25-4) went head-to-head on Sunday afternoon inside PPG Paints Arena.

When the 2024-25 season began, only the hopefully optimistic believed the Pittsburgh Penguins could contend for anything more than a lower-level slot in the Eastern Conference playoff field.

After a rough 8-3 loss against the Washington Capitals on Saturday, the Pittsburgh Penguins will look to bounce back and take advantage of a team in a similar situation.
