Strong storms rolled through the metro area, dropping heavy amounts of rain and bringing quite a light show Sunday afternoon.

A few showers will linger on Memorial Day, but there will be some periods of dry weather in between the rain. A final round of scattered showers and storms will move across the state Monday night. Once again, the threat of severe weather will remain low.

The Memorial Day weekend kicked off with a multi-day thunderstorm and heavy rainfall system hitting the south-central part of the country, forecasters said.
