Carmelo Anthony may have had a rocky exit from the Denver Nuggets franchise, but he's still one of the biggest legends in the team's franchise history. That resume as a legend only grew after the NBA announced that Carmelo Anthony was being inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025.

Carmelo Anthony said he “would love to see” his No. 7 jersey retired by the New York Knicks after being selected as a member of the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame class.

Among players who played their most career games with the Denver Nuggets, Anthony is just the fifth player in franchise history elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame. He joins a group that includes Dikembe Mutombo, Dan Issel, David Thompson, Alex English.

Anthony, 40, got the call during the week. When he saw the number was coming from Springfield, the former Knicks star knew what that meant. Days later, it was still sinking in.

Enshrinement weekend is Sept. 5-6 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn., and the Hall of Fame in Springfield.
