Thousands protest crime and corruption in Mexico City demonstrations organized by members of Generation Z. Similar protests have taken place in several countries this year, including Nepal, which led to the resignation of its prime minister.

Gen Z activists are marching in Mexico City today against what they call a narco-state, while Mexican President Sheinbaum alleges the protesters are backed by right-wing parties.

Thousands protested across Mexico on Saturday under the banner of “Generation Z,” denouncing rising violence after the public killing of an anti-crime mayor earlier this month.

The demonstration was first called by Generation Z, but opposition parties later urged supporters to join, bringing out more government critics than young people.
