Denmark’s prime minister has told the U.S. during a visit to Greenland that “you cannot annex another country,” even with the argument that international security is at stake.

The U.S. and Denmark offered drastically different perspectives regarding a meeting on the sidelines of the NATO conference in Brussels.

Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has told US President Donald Trump he "cannot annex another country" during her first visit to the Arctic since he threatened to take over Greenland. US Vice President JD Vance toured Greenland last Friday and accused Denmark of not doing a good job of keeping the Arctic island safe.
