The latest rollout expands Waymo’s Bay Area service area by 80 square miles and is the company’s third major launch on the Peninsula since it began operating outside San Francisco last August, starting with Daly City, Broadmoor and Colma. It added service in parts of northern Santa Clara County in April.

Waymo is continuing its slow and steady approach to the robotaxi business by gradually expanding its service area in the key cities of San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Waymo is expanding its commercial robotaxi service area by another 80 square miles, a move that brings its driverless vehicles into new parts of Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
