Starbucks also modifying prices for customers who add products to their beverage orders. This includes an 80-cent charge per dose of chai concentrate and an extra $1 per scoop of matcha powder in non-matcha drinks, according to Starbucks. Adding dried fruit to a drink will now cost 50 cents a scoop.

Starbucks has had a string of disappointing earnings reports, including missing analysts’ expectations in the first quarter of 2025 and reporting revenue of $8.8 billion, which fell around 3% short of the $8.

Starbucks is also testing a new feature in its app that shows pricing updates in real time when a consumer orders food or drinks.
