Cleveland police are investigating a shooting on Highview Drive that left two teens hospitalized.

According to Cleveland City Councilman Richard Starr, the suspect shot an officer in the hand before police returned fire, striking the suspect in the stomach.

Daniel L. Westrich, a 27-year-old Canton resident, was hit by the trooper's marked cruiser and pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe speed was a factor in the deadly crash.
