Hundreds of demonstrators lined major intersections Thursday in Ann Arbor with signs protesting President Donald Trump and his policies. Dissuaded by a few raindrops and the start of the Ann Arbor Art Fair,

People protested in cities across the country, including Grand Rapids, Thursday as part of the “Good Trouble Lives On” movement.

Organizers said the protests were a direct response to what they characterize as the Trump administration’s “brazen rollback” of civil and human rights.

The July 17 demonstration marked the fifth anniversary of the civil rights icon's death and is a follow-up to the No Kings rallies in June.

The goal is for protesters to come together to take peaceful, nonviolent action to make change and challenge injustice.
