As people across southeast Wisconsin face a challenging rebuild from historic downpours and flooding from August 8-10, a nonprofit is providing some assistance. According to a release, Airbnb’s nonprofit,
"The damage throughout the area is overwhelming," Mayor Cavalier Johnson said after visiting home with David Crowley and Tammy Baldwin.
As southeastern Wisconsin reckons with the growing toll of extreme weather events − such as last weekend's 1,000-year flood − the region faces mounting costs to infrastructure, possible displacement, the loss of personal belongings and irreplaceable memories, as well a serious impacts to mental and physical health.
