The US military carried out new strikes in Iran Wednesday, targeting a military site that threatened American troops and commercial shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, according to Reuters.
Military officials said that the strikes targeted missile sites near a major Iranian port that threatened U.S. ships.
President Donald Trump said Thursday that U.S. retaliatory strikes against Iranian targets were “just a love tap” and confirmed that a ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran is still in effect.
A drone strike has targeted the United Arab Emirates’ sole nuclear power plant. No one has been blamed and no major damage is reported.
The military activity comes as President Donald Trump told his cabinet members Iran was "negotiating on fumes."
