Phillies star first baseman Bryce Harper will return to the Philadelphia lineup Monday night, when the team opens a three-game home series with the Padres. Harper has been activated off the injured list after missing 22 games with inflammation in his right wrist. He faced live pitching but did not go out on a minor-league rehab assignment.

Kennedy, who is from Millville, New Jersey, appeared in four games for Philadelphia after his contract was selected on June 19. The 26-year-old slashed .283/.388/.447 (.835 OPS) with 35 runs, 11 doubles, one triple, eight home runs, 40 RBIs and 31 walks in 61 games with Lehigh Valley this season.

Harper just returned after missing 3 1/2 weeks because of right wrist pain. He went 1-for-4 in the opener of the doubleheader against San Diego.
