Officials from the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians are suing the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management over its decision to greenlight two areas off the Oregon Coast for potential floating wind energy projects.

A tribe in Oregon whose culture is tied to the ocean is suing the U.S. government over an offshore wind energy auction. The lawsuit was filed in federal court on Friday.

The lawsuit claims the Biden administration did not do enough to study the risks of authorizing floating wind turbines.
