After a night that brought mixed precipitation across the region, the severe weather threat is beginning to diminish across Michigan. Much of Mid-Michigan has now been downgraded to a marginal risk (1 out of 5) of severe storms by the Storm Prediction Center after a night of winter weather and mixed precipitation,

Several of the weather features of a severe weather outbreak are going to be over Michigan late this afternoon and evening. There are also two weather features that could keep us out of widespread severe thunderstorms.
