There was no shortage of physicality or drama during the first game of the matchup, and Leafs captain Auston Matthews added to both during and after the game. Following a heated exchange in front of the Toronto bench, first described by The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta, Matthews grabbed Ridly Greig’s stick and broke it in half.

On Sunday, the Senators were called for 15 penalties totaling 38 minutes. The Leafs, by comparison, drew nine penalties totaling 18 minutes. Toronto's stars took full advantage, with Mitch Marner leading the way with a goal and two assists, while Matthews and John Tavares each added two points.

This will put a smile on the faces of Toronto Maple Leafs fans. Auston Matthews smashed Ridly Greig's stick in half.
