The Florida Attorney General asked justices to put on hold a judge's decision blocking law enforcement from enforcing Florida's strict new immigration law.

The Florida law in question would make it a crime for undocumented migrants to enter the state if they had previously been deported or denied entry.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier asked the Supreme Court on Monday to pause a lower court’s order blocking a state law that makes it a misdemeanor for an illegal immigrant to be present in the Sunshine State.
