Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis says deportation flights from the remote Everglades immigration lockup known as Alligator Alcatraz began in the past few days.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Friday announced deportation flights had begun to take off from the so-called Alligator Alcatraz immigration detention facility in the Everglades.

Gov. Ron DeSantis said hundreds of immigration detainees had departed a state-run detention center in the Everglades on planes, some for federal facilities, and others out of the country.
