When Curtis Lazar left here for the Ottawa Senators, after helping the Edmonton Oil Kings win the 2014 Memorial Cup, all he had was his skates, his equipment bag and a body full of hope that he might have a long career as an NHLer.

EDMONTON, AB – The Edmonton Oilers announced Wednesday they have signed forward Curtis Lazar to a one-year contract with an average annual value of $775,000. Lazar (6'0", 203 lbs.) dressed in 48 regular season games for the New Jersey Devils during the 2024-25 season, recording two goals and three assists for five points.

Andrew Mangiapane, the 29-year-old Toronto native, will be a familiar face for Oilers fans as he spent seven seasons playing for Edmonton's provincial rivals the Calgary Flames.
