Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Tuesday launched a fresh interrogation into federal health officials’ decision to dismiss more than a dozen appointed vaccine experts, amid building concern over a meeting this week that could see Covid-19 and influenza vaccines thrown into question.

An emergency-room doctor, critics of COVID-19 vaccines and an obstetrician who advises a supplement company are among the advisers handpicked by vaccine sceptic Robert F. Kennedy Jr, the head of the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), to provide advice on vaccines to the federal government.

The Senate health committee chairman said new members of a key advisory panel who were appointed by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. “lack experience.”
