Black Sabbath original members Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward were presented with the Freedom of Birmingham award by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham in recognition of their global impact as pioneers of heavy metal music.

Colmore Food Festival opens in Birmingham's Victoria Square this week and around 30,000 hungry visitors are expected to attend. The free-to-visit city centre event will begin on Friday, July 4 and some of the very best food businesses in town are taking part.

Black Sabbath have been given the freedom of the city of Birmingham. All four original band members were present at Saturday's private ceremony, with Terence "Geezer" Butler, Tony Iommi, Ozzy Osbourne and Bill Ward presented with scrolls and medals by the Lord Mayor.
