South Carolina women's basketball will play UConn at least once the next two seasons and Dawn Staley addressed those claiming Gamecocks "ducked" the series.

On Thursday, the Charlotte Sports Foundation and the University of South Carolina announced that Dawn Staley’s Gamecocks are adding three games in the Queen City to future schedules. According to the announcement,

South Carolina and UConn are set to play each other the next two seasons. The two women’s basketball powers will first play in the Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase at Mohegan Sun next November.

South Carolina entered the 2024-25 season on a four-game winning streak against UConn, but they finished losing two straight. The Gamecocks lost to the Huskies and coach Geno Auriemma in Colonial Life Arena during the regular season and then again in the 2025 national championship game in Tampa.
