Nick Paul and Jake Guentzel also scored and Nikita Kucherov had three assists as the Lightning ended New York’s three-game winning streak.

With No. 1 defenseman Adam Fox out multiple weeks with a left elbow injury, Schneider will be tested even more. The void presents a chance for the 24-year-old. The Rangers have held him in high regard since drafting him with the No. 19 pick in 2020, but he has yet to fully break out in a top-four role.
