More than 300 earthquakes have rattled the San Ramon area since November. The largest earthquakes in the sequence struck in recent days, with a 4.0 on Friday and a 3.9 on Saturday. Yet, in response to public concern, experts continue to stress that small temblors have hit the area before without leading to a major one.
