Nissan’s variable compression turbo engine is now at the center of a class action lawsuit that alleges widespread defects that can cause sudden engine failure.

GM has issued a recall for certain examples of the 2015 to 2017 model-year Chevy City Express utility van over an issue related to the engine control module.

A fix is now available for 2021 Cadillac CT5 sedans affected by an Engine Control Module (ECM) issue leading to non-reporting of catalytic converter faults.

For vehicles with the 3-cylinder 1.5L VC-Turbo engines, if no debris is found during the inspection, dealers will replace the oil pan gasket, engine oil, and reprogram the engine control module.

The Engine Control Module (ECM) is the computer responsible for controlling the engine. The ECM communicates with other vehicle control units via a communication bus.
