New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani on Wednesday announced an all-female team of co-chairs for his transition team, including former Federal Trade Commission chair Lina Khan.

After Zohran Mamdani successfully completed his historic bid for mayor of the country's largest city on Tuesday night, he was joined onstage by his wife Rama Duwaji. In his speech, Mamdani thanked Duwaji, saying, "There is no one I would rather have by my side in this moment and in every moment."

One day after Zohran Mamdani was elected New York City mayor, the 34-year-old democratic socialist announced his five-member transition team of all women.

The NYC mayor-elect's remarks came a day after top White House adviser Stephen Miller posted a cryptic message about immigrants in the city.
