Khamzat Chimaev gets his chance to finally become the UFC champion people predicted he'd be after his 2020 UFC debut. Chimaev will challenge UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis at UFC 319 on Aug.

For months, Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev had been linked to a possible fight against each other. The reigning UFC Middleweight Champion had time and again traded barbs with Chimaev, and many in the MMA community predicted that their grudge match could come to fruition sometime in 2025.

The UFC will have a backup fighter on scene when Dricus Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev fight for middleweight gold this August.
