The clock is ticking on a race of President Donald Trump's own making: a sprint to negotiate dozens of trade deals before his 90-day pause on some tariffs expires — talks that negotiators of past trade deals say come with a range of strategic and logistical hurdles due to Trump's compressed timeline.

After saying earlier in the day that he was “in no rush” to finish trade deals, President Donald Trump said he thought he could wrap up tariff talks “over the next three or four weeks.” That timeline would be ambitious,

"There will be a trade deal 100%," Trump said ahead of a luncheon at the White House with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. "I fully expect it."
