Donald Trump, presidential approval
Digest more
A year after President Donald Trump was sworn in for a second term, his approval rating remains at around 45%, according to Morning Consult’s weekly polling—though voters’ views of his handling of foreign policy dipped to a record-low last week in the wake of the U.S. capturing Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
A CBS News poll conducted by YouGov between January 14 and 16 gave Trump a -38 point approval rating, with 31 percent approving and 69 percent disapproving of the president. The poll of 2,523 adults had a margin of error of +/- 2.3 percentage points.
Trump’s net approval rating has been negative for 310 consecutive days, according to Harry Enten’s aggregate of polls.
President Donald Trump's low approval ratings one year in don't signal failure, but delivery on campaign promises, creating unsettling stability without consensus in divided America.
