The Dallas Cowboys have found their backup quarterback after a trade with the New England Patriots for Joe Milton.

The New England Patriots may have found a diamond in the rough in Joe Milton III. The young quarterback has shown immense potential since being drafted in the sixth round last year, but he's unlikely to reach his ceiling with the organization that selected him.

The Pats have traded second-year QB Joe Milton to the Dallas Cowboys in order to upgrade a seventh-round pick to a fifth-round selection. It's a logical move for Dallas, which was in great need of a backup quarterback. In New England, though, the Patriots no longer have a potentially high-upside security blanket behind Maye.
