Marcelo Gomes, the Milford, Massachusetts high school student currently detained by ICE, will have a hearing Thursday.

The 18-year-old was detained while on his way to volleyball practice. His Massachusetts community is demanding his release.

The student, a junior whose name hasn't been released, had been in the country since he was 5 years old, a school administrator said.
