President Donald Trump's tax cut bill would enact steep cuts to the nation's safety-net health insurance program for low income families.

The bill would cut $1.1 trillion in health-care spending and result in 11.8 million people losing health coverage over the next decade, according to estimates.

The Senate version of the legislation makes even steeper cuts to Medicaid than the $800 billion slashed in the House-passed version of the bill.
