Nearly 650 fourth-year students across Louisiana opened envelopes that told them where they will take their next steps in medical training — 34% were matched with programs in Louisiana.

Most jobs don't require 20 years of school. That's why not all of us are doctors. But all of that education paid off for med students across the country for Match Day on Friday.

Indiana University celebrated Match Day as 341 fourth-year medical students learned where they would complete their residency training after medical school, with 109 staying in Indiana and 90 staying at IU.
