Authorities arrested a man after a vehicle struck several people, injuring at least 47, during a parade celebrating Liverpool's Premier League title.

Dozens of people, including four children, were injured when a driver plowed a car into a parade in northwest England celebrating Liverpool Football Club’s latest Premier League win on Monday evening.

The Merseyside Police have said that the incident of a car colliding with pedestrians in Liverpool city center during Liverpool Football Club's Premier League victory parade is not being treated as terrorism.

Police charged a 53-year-old man on Thursday in connection to this week's car-ramming incident at a Liverpool parade that left scores injured.

The driver was believed to be the only one involved in the incident and it was not being investigated as an act of terrorism, police said.

Four people are 'very, very ill' after sustaining injuries in the car-ramming, the city's mayor said. A 53-year-old suspect has been arrested.

Police said they did not believe the incident was terrorism-related. Twenty people were treated at the scene. Ambulance officials said of the 27 taken to hospital, four were children.
