La Crosse Police Department have reported that the body of Eliotte Heinz was recovered in the Mississippi River near Brownsville, Minnesota.

It's a story all too familiar to people in La Crosse and Wisconsin: A young college student going missing after a night in a bar with friends. The latest college student to go missing was a 22-year-old Viterbo graduate student named Eliotte Heinz.

A fisherman discovered the body of 22-year-old Viterbo University student Eliotte Heinz in the Mississippi River, miles from where she was last seen in La Crosse.

An air quality alert was issued by the National Weather Service in La Crosse at 2:08 p.m. on Thursday, July 24.
