Justin Fields will face his old team and former Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers officially will get a shot at his old team as well. After months of rumors and speculation, it was reported this weekend that Rodgers was planning to sign with Pittsburgh.

Aaron Rodgers will wear No. 8 for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rodgers wore No. 12 throughout his entire Green Bay Packers career, but he switched to No. 8, which he wore in college at Cal, when he landed with the Jets in 2023. No. 12 was unavailable in New York with that jersey retired in honor of Super Bowl III-winning quarterback Joe Namath.

Aaron Rodgers has already found his jersey number with the Steelers. Rodgers, 41, is set to wear No. 8 next season with Pittsburgh, the team shared in a social media post. The number previously belonged to Steelers punter Corliss Waitman, who will now switch to No. 3 for the upcoming season, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
