When looking across the landscape of college athletics, many fans pick their team because of how close they are geographically to where they are or where they grew up. The beauty of national tournaments like the NCAA Tournament is that schools from all over the country can be included and can shine a light on where they are from.

Drake is located in the state capital of Des Moines, roughly three miles from the state capitol and, for a much more useful waypoint, less than two miles from the Big Grove Brewery and Taproom.

Spring break is now over for the Drake University campus, as is the NCAA tournament run for the Bulldog men's basketball team.
