Neeraj Chopra surged into the lead after the 1st round of throws in the Paris Diamond League and stayed there. Germany's Julian Weber ended second.

Neeraj Chopra has won the men’s javelin event in Paris thanks to his opening throw of 88.16m. Germany’s Julian Weber finished second right behind Chopra with 87.88m throw. Brazil’s Luiz da Silva surprised everyone by finishing third.

Neeraj Chopra came out on top in Paris, beating arch-rival Julian Weber. But both athletes failed to get past the 90m mark.
