Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese won a second term for his center-left Labor Party Saturday, defeating conservative challenger Peter Dutton in an election colored by US President Donald Trump’s trade war.

Anthony Albanese told his supporters in a victory speech in Sydney: “Australians have chosen to face global challenges the Australian way, looking after each other while building for the future.”

Supporters at Labor’s election party in Sydney cheered and hugged each other as Albanese claimed victory and said his party would form a majority government.
